YOGA INJURIES AND HOW TO DEAL WITH THEM: A LIVESTREAM WORKSHOP WITH AMY SLEVIN

Injuries get a bad rap in yoga, in particular. They can wreak havoc on the mind as well as the body. Why do people get injured despite teachers trying to instruct safely? Can there be benefits to both teacher and student from injuries? Is there a hidden lesson in getting injured, and if so, what is it?

In this 90 minute workshop, we will discuss:

  • whose responsibility is it to keep students "safe"?

  • the most common causes and types of injury

  • how to learn from the injury

  • what makes injuries better or worse

  • how to deal with recurring pain in our yoga practice

  • how to navigate back into yoga post injury

  • how to adjust your practice when there is an injured body part

  • how you tell if an activity is safe to do again post injury

  • how to trust yourself again

Amy invites you to bring questions about your injuries to this interactive workshop. Using knowledge from her osteopathy training and years of treating her own and other people's injuries, Amy will share tips about how to recover from your own.
