All genuine yoga is built on the firm foundations of an integral morality. It is impossible to be a self realised liberated individual without also being a morally mature individual with a radical modern dharma.
These workshops incorporate the practical aspects of ashtanga yoga: yogasana, dhyana, pranayama and mantra, it also will focus on the foundations of a modern yoga philosophy, a dharma, and how it relates to modern life.
Saturday 8th February
9.30am-12.30pm
Introduction to a modern Yoga Dharma. Beginning with a Yogasana sequence then an overview of the importance of establishing a modern yogic moral code.With the emphasis on saucha (ecology), ahimsa (vegan ethics) and satya (truth and honesty in relation to human rights).
Saturday 8th February
1.30-4.30pm
Following a steady and comfortable asana class the session will explore the yamas: ahimsa, satya and asteya to analyse their importance to the concept of a modern dharma.
Sunday 9th February
1.30-4.30pm
This workshop will offer the opportunity to practice yogasana, dhyana, pranayama and mantra, then the emphasis will turn toward Aparigraha (non greed, non attachment), tapas (disciplined austere sacrifice) and correct sexual behaviour (Bramacharya).
