In Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science, summer is considered pitta season, where the solar force and energetic principles of fire and water are strong. It typically begins in late spring and lasts through early fall, with Midsummer at its apex.
Pitta transforms. Self-expression, accomplishment, exploration, and adventure are inherent elements of this time of year. When it’s out of balance, you may feel too hot, too competitive, and too wound up.
To harmonise these natural forces, we will do:
A calm and fluid asana practice
Balancing pranayama to integrate the solar and lunar principles in the body
Meditation to experience fire in its transformative, spiritual essence
Yoga nidra to call forth your Midsummer Night’s Dream
All levels welcome.
