Price £20 | Early Bird £18 (until Saturday 10th April)

Over the last year or so most of us have experienced longer spells of immobility through sitting for extended periods, much less variety in our movements and habitually we have become even more reliant on various forms of technology when working from home. As a result, new postural patterns have arisen in the body potentially creating structural instability, tension hotspots and physical tightness, and all this can be difficult to shake off at the end of the day.

In this Springtime workshop we can sow the seeds of our intentions for the rest of the year by pressing the reset button now and liberating the upper body from these patterns. This practise will involve using gentle movements to mobilise tight spots particularly around the shoulders, arms and back. In addition, there will be a focus on applying gentle pressure on muscular and fascial tissues in the upper body using massage balls to release tension and enhance circulation, encouraging hydration and tissue resilience. Finally, we will move through a meridian based yin practise to encourage further release and mindful relaxation using longer held grounding postures.

You will need a bolster, yoga blocks, a blanket and a long strap. You can also substitute these yoga props using everyday items found at home like cushions, towels and books. For the myofascial release aspect, you will need two smooth massage balls (or tennis balls), a sock to hold the balls and a small towel.

This practice is open to all levels. You are advised to take qualified medical advice if you have any injuries/medical conditions or have had recent operations/procedures that may be affected or be inflamed by the yoga practise and applying gentle physical pressure to the body.
