Demystifying Dharma Yoga: Breaking Down Transitions and Refining Asana Practice @Home with Marcia Sharp

Marcia Sharp - Elephant Trunk pose.jpg

PRICE: £20 | EARLY BIRD PRICE: £18 (until Sunday 11th April)

In this fun and creative workshop with Marcia, you will dive deep into the special experience of the combination transition in Dharma yoga. You will use your breath, body weight, some props (strap, towel, belt, blocks/ books - whatever you have handy), and the wall/ closed door (if you have the space). By the end of the workshop you will feel a real sense of progress, having learned techniques that will inspire you to continue and deepen your practise, both in group classes and on your own.

Together, we will be breaking down how to safely enter, hold and exit asanas including:

  • Vasisthasana (Side Plank) to Urdhva Dhanurasana (Wheel)

  • Kakasana (Crow) to Tripod Headstand

  • Pincha Mayurasana (Forearm Scorpion) to Viparita Dandasana (Two-Legged Inverted Staff Pose)

  • Yoga Nidrasana (Yogic Sleep Pose - Supine Feet behind the Head)

  • Chaturanga & Jump through

We’ll make sure to warm up thoroughly before each section: opening the back, shoulders and hips; lengthening and stretching your muscles

And finally, after all that effort, you will experience a guided Savasana (relaxation) to recharge and rejuvenate your entire physical and mental system.

This workshop is open to intermediate practitioners. For those who have recently begun their inversion journey, modifications will make this session fully enjoyable, enabling us to be creative, playful and joyful together.

If you have an injury or health condition, please check with us prior to booking.
